Azure Matcha blends the worlds of matcha, hospitality, and private experience: ceremonial-grade matcha and the ritual around it, curated for every stage of the matcha journey. We work directly with small family farms in Japan, never with mass-produced or wholesale matcha.
Grade. Premium ceremonial-grade matcha comes from the youngest, first-flush leaves, shaded for weeks before harvest, stone-ground for a smooth, low-bitterness flavor. Most coffee shops use culinary-grade matcha, a different product, meant for baking, not drinking straight.
Yes. Our current blend leans creamy, sweet, and nutty rather than overtly grassy, and the flavor is genuinely adjustable. Want more intensity, use more matcha. Want something sweeter, use less and pair with a milk you love.
No. Matcha pairs caffeine with L-theanine, an amino acid that slows the body's absorption of caffeine, producing a steadier, calmer energy curve instead of a sharp spike and crash.
No refined sugars, no food dyes, no preservatives. Our essences and compotes are made by hand in small batches, using organic, whole ingredients and clean plant-based milks.
Because the preparation is the point, not a delay. Whisking matcha properly is part of the ritual: a few minutes of intention before the rest of the day starts.
Currently through in-person tastings, masterclasses, and pop-up activations in Miami, with appearances in New York and Los Angeles. Online ordering is coming soon.
Matcha is delicate, and hot water can scorch the leaf, dulling its natural sweetness and breaking down some of the antioxidants and L-theanine that make it worth drinking in the first place. Heat can also bring out a bitter, almost fishy edge that cold whisking avoids entirely, for a smoother, creamier cup. We recommend water around 40°F for the brightest flavor, though anywhere from cold to room temperature works well. It really comes down to preference.
